Established in 2007, SP Nano is a nanotechnology company commercializing its patented "SP1 - Nano reinforcement protein agent" that enhanc es the performance of composite materials, thus enabling the production of parts that are lighter, stronger and more sustainable.
Applied using standard textile machinery, the SP1 evenly distributes nano particles (such as carbon black, CNT or graphene ) across industrial fabrics and yarns. The increased surface area improves the adhesion and by using less layers to produce the high performance parts, creates weight and cost savings for the end manufacturers
The €84 billion composites market includes raw materials such as carbon, glas s and aramid fabrics, and is commonly used in industries such as aerospace, cons truction, automotive and marine, wind energy and s ports equipment. SP Nano's addressable market (in composite materials and mec hanical rubber goods) exceeds US$10 billion.
